Our mission is simple:

To provide a unique jungle experience and welcome retreat from the hectic pace of the modern world. 

We take food very seriously, and source local, sustainable, organic products wherever possible, much of which comes from our sister property at Rio Oro, or from organic collectives in the high valley town of San Isidro. We cook with artisanal coconut oil and olive oils, and serve some of Costa Rica’s finest coffee and the best imported wine, beer, and liquor we can find. If you want to detox, experiment with raw food, or even juice fast, we have you covered. 

With over 20 years of experience here in the jungle, we can connect you with the insider network of yogis, masseurs, healers, tour guides, fishermen, surf instructors, merchants, and other specialists that comprise this vibrant and eclectic community. And though you’re here on vacation and likely want to get away from it all, we recognize that many find it impossible to completely disconnect; to that end, high speed wifi and cable television are available if you need to check in at the office or catch the current playoff game/hit series.

The Osa is a magical place, with a spirit of Nature so abundant and powerful that many who visit must inevitably return, indeed, we have a majority of guests who visit annually or more, and consider Clandestina as their jungle home. That, then, is what we ultimately strive to be—a place where you feel at home in this magnificent setting, relaxed and yet full of energy to indulge in all the splendor the jungle has to offer.
